Event Purpose: 

This event will promote better understanding of both modern and traditional Chinese culture in Dundee.  It aims to create an awareness of various Chinese communities in Dundee to show how Chinese culture enhances the experience of the city.  It also provides an opportunity for local Chinese communities, such as Tayside Chinese, The Chinese Senior Citizen Association, Dundee Chinese Students & Scholars Association, etc., to integrate with the local population.

Event Objectives:

1 – Home, sweet Home
A chance for Chinese students to visually present their home cities and show their histories and current development

2 – Dunnese Alive Event (Dundee Chinese Alive Event)
This weekend event would provide an opportunity for the local community to learn more about:
- Chinese traditions and cultures;
- The support available for Chinese in Dundee;
- Information and advice from local Higher Education Institutes;
This event will also show case the “Home, sweet home” presentations.

3 – Learning Chinese Language
Pupils of the local schools will have the opportunity to learn basic conversation in Mandarin. 

Target Audience:

- Local families;
- Local Chinese;
- All students in Dundee.

How many participants we expect to attract:

- 50 for Home, sweet home;
- 800 for Dunnese Alive;
- 240 for Learning Chinese language.
